The details

About this bed

The Birkhill combines wings with fine fluting: narrow channels across the centre panel, wrapped by padded wings on each side. It gives the enclosed feel of a winged bed with more texture than a plain panel, and it photographs well in every fabric.

Solid fixed slats keep the mattress flat and silent, chrome feet finish the base. 12 fabrics, one price.

Delivery, assembly and returns

Delivery

Free delivery to England and Wales. Each bed is made for your order, so allow 5 to 10 working days; most arrive within a week. We will email you to arrange a day once it is ready.

Assembly

The frame arrives in parts with all fixings and instructions. Two people and about an hour is a fair guide. The headboard is the largest piece, so check your stairs and doors against the dimensions before you order. A split headboard can often be arranged if access is tight, so ring us first.

Returns

You have 14 days from delivery to tell us if you have changed your mind. Because the bed is made to order we ask that it is unused and in its packaging, and the return collection is at your cost. If anything arrives damaged or faulty, that is on us: tell us within 48 hours and we will put it right.

Is the mattress included?

No. This is the bed frame on its own. Any standard UK mattress of the right size will fit. Our own mattresses are coming soon and will be offered as a bundle here.

Which mattress size do I need?

Standard UK sizes. Single 90 x 190cm, Small Double 120 x 190cm, Double 135 x 190cm, King 150 x 200cm, Super King 180 x 200cm. If you already have a mattress, measure it rather than going by the label.

Does the price change with the colour?

No. All 14 colours cost the same. The price you see for your size is the price you pay.

Can I see the fabric before I order?

Yes. Fabric samples are £1 each, and we post them first class. Colours on screens vary, so we would rather you looked at the real thing.

How long does delivery take?

Each bed is made for your order, so allow 5 to 10 working days. Most arrive within a week. Delivery is free to England and Wales.

Is there a storage or adjustable version?

Yes. Each design is also available as an ottoman storage bed with a gas lift, in two styles: slatted, at the same height as this frame, or divan style with a solid, fabric-covered top. An electrically adjustable version is coming. The bed type switcher above the size options shows what is available now.
