The details

About this bed

The Gordon is the traditional one. Deep buttoning across a tall winged headboard, repeated on the footboard, in the way a good club chair is done. It looks right in a period house and it looks right in a new-build that wants some warmth.

The base lifts from the foot end on gas struts, so you can reach everything stored underneath without moving the bed. The top is a solid, fabric-covered flat top in the style of a divan, which sits about 4 cm higher than our standard frame. The gas lift is rated for up to 60kg. Choose any of 14 fabrics at the same price.

Free delivery to England and Wales. Each bed is made for your order, so allow 5 to 10 working days; most arrive within a week. We will email you to arrange a day once it is ready.

Assembly

The bed arrives in parts with all fixings and instructions. Assembly is required and takes two people. The headboard is the largest piece, so check your stairs and doors against the dimensions before you order.

Returns

You have 14 days from delivery to tell us if you have changed your mind. Because the bed is made to order we ask that it is unused and in its packaging, and the return collection is at your cost. If anything arrives damaged or faulty, that is on us: tell us within 48 hours and we will put it right.

Is the mattress included?

No. This is the bed on its own. Our own mattresses are coming soon and will be offered as a bundle here.

Which mattress size do I need?

Standard UK sizes. Single 90 x 190cm, Small Double 120 x 190cm, Double 135 x 190cm, King 150 x 200cm, Super King 180 x 200cm.

How does the storage work?

The whole base lifts from the foot end on gas struts, rated for up to 60kg, so you can reach everything underneath without moving the bed. There are two styles. The slatted gas lift sits at the same height as our standard bed frame. The divan style has a solid, fabric-covered flat top and sits about 4cm higher.

Does the price change with the colour?

No. All 14 colours cost the same. The price you see for your size is the price you pay.

Can I see the fabric before I order?

Yes. Fabric samples are £1 each, and we post them first class. Colours on screens vary, so we would rather you looked at the real thing.

How long does delivery take?

Each bed is made for your order, so allow 5 to 10 working days. Most arrive within a week. Delivery is free to England and Wales.

Does it need assembling?

Yes. The bed arrives in parts with fixings and instructions, and it takes two people to build. If you would rather we did it, ask about assembly when you order.

Will the headboard fit up my stairs?

The headboard is the largest single piece. Check your stairwell and door widths against the dimensions in the specifications tab before you order, and ring us if it looks tight.

Is there a version without storage, or an adjustable one?
