Measuring for a Trundle Bed

Before buying a trundle-style guest bed, it's worth measuring the room twice: once for the bed's closed footprint, and once for the fully extended layout with the trundle pulled out and positioned alongside the main bed.

Our Guest Bed & Trundle has a closed footprint of 90cm wide by 198cm long — similar to a standard single bed frame — with each mattress measuring 90 x 190cm. When the trundle is extended and placed beside the main bed, plan for roughly double the width, plus a little clearance to walk around and make up the beds comfortably.

Don't Forget Height

Check the clearance under the main bed base too, since the trundle needs to store fully beneath it. It's also worth measuring doorways and staircases if the bed will need to be carried up to a bedroom in one piece rather than assembled on delivery.
