Zip and Link Mattresses Explained: Turning Two Singles Into a Super King

One Bed, Two Configurations

Zip and link mattresses are two single mattresses fitted with matching zips along one long edge, allowing them to be joined together into a single super-king-size sleeping surface, or unzipped and used as two separate singles.

On our Guest Bed & Trundle, this is available as an optional upgrade on the zipped mattress variant. It means the same bed can sleep two guests separately on a normal night, or be zipped together for a couple staying over who'd prefer one larger bed rather than two singles pushed side by side.

Is It Worth Choosing?

If your guest room regularly hosts couples as well as pairs of friends or siblings, the zip-link option adds genuine flexibility for a modest extra cost. If it's mainly used by children or solo guests, the standard non-zipped mattresses will suit just as well.
