About this one

How it feels

This is Hungarian goose down graded for the very largest clusters. At 800+ fill power it is the highest in our range, so the pillow is remarkably light for its size and recovers its shape almost as soon as you lift your head.

Pure down, no feather, in a 300 thread count cotton case with a piped, double-stitched edge.

Who it suits

The best pillow we can offer. Also a very good present for someone who has everything else.

Made to order in Fife, Scotland

Your pillow is filled by hand when you order it, at a family-run factory in Glenrothes that has made bedding for some of the finest hotels in the UK and abroad since 1990.

Nothing is made in advance and left in a warehouse. That is better for hygiene, it means your pillow arrives at full loft rather than flattened from months in storage, and it is why delivery takes 1 to 2 weeks.

Clean, traceable filling

The filling is a by-product of the food industry, sourced in Europe. It is washed several times and steam-dried at over 100°C for more than 30 minutes to meet the EN 12935 hygiene standard (Downafresh® certified). The factory is a member of the European Down and Feather Association, which means a documented traceability system for the filling and a code of conduct on animal welfare.

Choosing, care, delivery and returns

Choosing your firmness

  • Soft: front sleepers, and anyone who likes to sink in.
  • Medium: back sleepers, and the safe choice if you change position.
  • Firm: side sleepers, who need more height to fill the gap between shoulder and ear.

Certifications explained

NOMITE®: the tightly woven cotton keeps house dust mites out, so it is suitable for people with a dust mite allergy.

Downafresh®: the down and feather meet the EN 12935 hygiene standard for cleanliness.

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: the case and filling are tested for harmful substances.

Questions people ask

800+ or 750 fill power?
Both are pure Hungarian goose down. The 800+ is selected for larger clusters, so it is lighter and plumper for the same size. If you love a big, cloud-like pillow, the 800+. If you want a little more substance, the 750.
Why is a pair cheaper per pillow?
Every order from the factory carries the same delivery and handling cost, so two pillows in one box cost less to send than two separate orders. The pair price passes that saving on.
Which firmness should I choose?
Sleep on your front: soft. On your back: medium. On your side: firm. If you move around, medium. Firm costs a little more because it holds more filling.
Is it suitable if I have allergies?
It is NOMITE certified, so it suits people with a house dust mite allergy, and the filling is cleaned to the EN 12935 hygiene standard. If you are allergic to feather or down itself, a natural-filled pillow is not the right choice.
Can I wash it?
Yes, at 40°C on a gentle cycle, one pillow at a time. Tumble dry on low until it is completely dry all the way through, which takes longer than you think. A couple of clean tennis balls in the drum help it fluff up.
Why does delivery take 1 to 2 weeks?
Because it is filled to order in Fife rather than taken off a warehouse shelf.
Who makes it?
It is made for us in Glenrothes, Fife, by dùsal, a family-run British manufacturer that has made pillows, duvets and toppers for hotels since 1990 and is the only Downafresh® accredited manufacturer in the UK.
How long does delivery take?
Free delivery to England, Wales and most of Scotland, usually in 1 to 2 weeks. We will be in touch to arrange the day.
Can I return it?
Yes. Tell us within 14 days of delivery and you then have a further 14 days to send it back. The full details are in our returns policy.
